Hey Gosh Girls,
At the weekend I was shortlisted for the “One to Watch” designer category in
the Irish Fashion Industry awards at Kerry Fashion Week. It was a pretty big
deal with all of Ireland too fashion designers, press, TB cameras etc in
attendance so I wanted to look my very best on the red carpet.
So what did I turn to? Gosh of course!
I was late as usual for the event so I didn’t manage to take any “before”
pictures but you guys have all seen me “sans makeup” before so you know what
my pasty face generally looks like!
I was wearing one of my own designs to the awards so I wanted my makeup to
reflect my look perfectly and enhance my outfit in every way! I also wanted
it to last the entire evening without having to worry about topping it up
too much as I had quite a busy evening ahead.
My skin was also still very marked from my Cosmo peel which I had had the
week before so I had to be very careful to ensure everything was concealed.
I’m not going to bore you with my entire routine for the evening as this
post is more about the longevity of the makeup rather than how it is applied
but it entailed a series of layers of Gosh click n’conceal, BB cream,
X-ceptional foundation and the Giant Sun Powder. I wanted my skin to be
radiant and glowing whilst also quite tan to bring out the colours in the
dress!
I then went for my usual Gosh kohl eye liner, the length n build mascara and
the smokey eyes palette in brown to enhance my eyes just enough without
making them the centre focus of my look!
I wanted my lips to be the focal point for the evening, choosing the Gosh
Matt lipstick in Plum which was almost an exact match of the main colour in
my dress! The Matt effect had the exact look that I was hoping for,
dramatic, glamorous and defined without being too shiny and drawing
attention away from the silk in my dress.
- EYES
My evening consisted of eating dinner, drinking wine, attending the awards,
multiple interviews and lots of dancing and all the while, I didn’t have to
top up my makeup once! My lipstick in particular was still going strong at
the end of the night.
Gosh is one of the most reliable makeup brands that I have ever used and
will always turn to it for any of my big events in the future!
It is consistent, eye catching, flattering and there is something to suit
everyone!
Love Nicola
